100!

This is my 100th post!!!

So, I thought I would celebrate by sharing and reflecting on my top 5 read blog posts since starting 3000milesnorth.com.

5) Weekend in Iowa City

What a weekend this was. ETE had moved to Iowa City only a few months prior and in addition to helping them move into their new house, I witnessed a very exciting Iowa Hawkeye football game inside Kinnick Stadium.

4) Washington DC

I traveled to Washington DC for the American Public Health conference with my coworker Jen Gatei. The conference was outstanding, the city was fabulous and the food was delicious.

3) Pinot? Yes, please.

Ahhhh...wine tasting in the Oregon sun. This was part of my visit to see ETE last summer when they still lived in Portland...and actually ended up being my last visit to Portland before they moved. The wineries were fun to visit and it was a joy to spend time with ETE.

2) Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti

I discovered that spaghetti squash is an excellent and tasty alternative to regular pasta noodles. This post received huge amounts of traffic and inspired me to continue posting food recipes on 3000milesnorth in addition to blogging about my travels in Alaska and around the country.

1) Lasagna

This lasagna recipe has been by far my post popular post on 3000milesnorth, more than doubling the traffic that was received for my spaghetti squash post. In this lasagna recipe, I used whole wheat noodles and substantially reduced the amount of cheese required in many lasagna recipes. The best part of this night was enjoying a glass of 2005 Prix Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: MJT Block with Matt from my favorite winery in Napa...Hagafen Cellers.

It has been a pleasure sharing my experiences with you through 3000milesnorth. Although there are certain times of the year that I am better at sharing new posts, I really enjoy sharing my perspective on life, adventure and living a healthy lifestyle in a world more than 3000 miles north from where I grew up in Iowa.

To continued success at 3000milesnorth.com...
